The Alma Park Summer Fair is back on Saturday 20 June, from 2–4pm!
The fair is free to enter and there will be games, activities, food, stalls, sweet treats and a HUGE MEGA RAFFLE with some brilliant prizes up for grabs.
You can expect lots of communication about the fair in the runup but, for those who’ve not been before or need reminding, read on for all the vital info:
We urgently need volunteers
To run the fair safely and successfully we need a minimum of 30 volunteers this year. If we do not reach this number, we will unfortunately have to cancel the fair.
There are lots of different ways to help, including:
- helping set up in the morning or at lunchtime
- running a stall during the fair
- helping tidy up afterwards
Even a couple of hours makes a huge difference.
If you would like to volunteer, please join the volunteers WhatsApp group by clicking here.
We also have some volunteer roles suitable for high school age children who would like to gain volunteering experience. Please contact the PTA if you know a young person who would be interested.
Tokens and raffle tickets
The fair is free to enter and runs using tokens, sold in 50p denominations. You can pay by cash or card when buying tokens, but stalls inside the fair will only accept tokens.
Tokens (and raffle tickets) will be available to buy on the day of the fair, but to help avoid queues we’ll also be selling them in the playground at pick up on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in the week before the fair.
Food and community
One of the loveliest things about the fair is the food shared by our school community. This year we would especially love to have more dishes representing the different cultures and backgrounds at Alma Park.
If you would be interested in making food for the fair, the PTA can cover ingredient costs — please get in touch.
Donations needed
We would be hugely grateful for donations for the fair over the coming weeks:
Raffle prizes
The auction is taking a break this year, and instead we are hoping to pull together a HUGE raffle. If you, your workplace or someone you know would like to donate a raffle prize, please contact the PTA at almaparkpta@gmail.com.
Toys and books
Friday 12 June will be a non-uniform day for children bringing in a good quality second-hand toy or book to be sold at the fair.
Cakes
Friday 19 June will be a non-uniform day for children bringing in a cake donation (homemade or shop bought) to be sold at the fair.
The Summer Fair is one of the PTA’s biggest fundraising events of the year and helps support extra opportunities and experiences for all children at Alma Park. Thank you so much for your support — we can’t wait to see you there!
