Now that we are all settled in to school for the new year, we wanted to introduce the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) to all of those new to the school community (and a reminder to those who are not so new!)
The PTA is here to organise events to both bring the school community together, and to raise funds to support the schools activities – from contributing to the school grounds to helping fund leaving gifts for the year 6 children at the end of the year.
You are all automatically a ‘member’ of the PTA, and we welcome ideas and suggestions from all of the school community for events, activities, or fundraising targets.
We have been fairly quiet as a PTA throughout Covid, but there is now a really good chance (hoping that we are over the worst of the pandemic!) to be much more active. The summer fair in July – traditionally the PTA’s main event of the year – was a huge success, raising over £3,000.
So, the PTA needs you and your ideas! We will hold an open meeting for anybody who wants to chat about the PTA on Thursday 6 October after school at 3.15, or Friday 7 October after drop off 9am, both in the dining room.
As well as ideas for events and fundraising, it would also be great to talk about how to get people more involved. All three of the current officers of the PTA (chair, treasurer and secretary) will be standing down before Christmas, so volunteers for these roles would be very welcome!
If you want to get involved, but can’t make either of these dates, please contact almaparkpta@gmail.com.
